Runaway Horse & Carriage

Tue, 2007-05-15

Around 2:45pm today, Police received a report of a horse and carriage on the loose on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that the horse somehow became agitated and broke free from its handler, taking the empty carriage with it as it galloped west on Front Street. The horse & carriage were eventually restrained by a member of the public on Pitts Bay Road. No one was injured. Police attended the scene and assisted with corralling the horse and returning it to its handler. Inquiries into this incident are underway. The Bermuda Police Service would like to highly commend the member of the public who initially took control of the horse after it broke free for their actions.
