Injury RTC

At 3:10am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Church Street and King Street in the City of Hamilton. It appears that a car was traveling east on Church Street when the driver, a 22 year old Warwick man, attempted to negotiate a bend in the road at the junction and lost control. The silver Hyundai then crashed through one of the doors to the Bermuda Fire Service Headquarters building and collided with three Fire Service vehicles parked inside. The Warwick man was taken to KEMH for treatment of a broken jaw. The car received extensive front end damage. The fire vehicles, which were unoccupied at the time of the collision, received right side and front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Stephen Diamond on 295-0011.

Burglary

At 10pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Railway Trail, Devonshire residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 4:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a silver 7” portable DVD player, a silver Panasonic digital camera and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 8pm on Friday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Harbour Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 8am and 7:10pm that day, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit(s) stole a brand new 42” Samsung plasma flat screen TV, a barbeque cover, a quantity of jewelry, a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
