The Bermuda Police Service (BPS) would like to congratulate the following officers for their promotion to Chief Inspector and Inspector respectively.

Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro

Chief Inspector Nicholas Pedro is a Bermudian who joined the BPS straight from University in January 1993 (15 years of service), having attained a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He is married with two sons.

Chief Inspector Pedro has worked in Uniform, Traffic, with the bulk of his service in the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). He has also worked in Narcotics, Headquarters, and most recently was in charge of the Fraud Unit in the Commercial Crime Department. Chief Inspector Pedro has received three Commissioner’s Commendations for excellent work and is now posted as the Officer in Charge of ‘Operation Safer Streets.’

Inspector Mark Clarke

Inspector Mark Clarke joined the Bermuda Police Service in December 1981 as a Police Cadet. He was promoted to Sergeant in 2001 and has worked in the Uniform Division, Criminal Investigation Departments, Major Incident Room, Juvenile Domestic Crime Unit and currently serves as the Incident Commander in the Operational Support Unit.

Inspector Clarke holds several commendations and awards in the Advance Level in Critical Incidents Stress Management, Canadian Police Department’s Senior Police Administration Course and Kent Police Senior Investigation Officer Development Program. He is also a member of the Executive Committee and ICISF, has received 4 Commendations, 8 Notes of Appreciation, 7 Letters of Good Work, 3 Commissioner’s Merit Awards, a Colonial Police Long Service Award and a Queen’s Jubilee Medal 2000.
