Around 12 noon today, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Warwick between Khyber Pass and Longford Road involving an auxiliary cycle, a car and a truck. It appears that the truck was traveling east on Middle Road and the auxiliary cycle was behind the truck also traveling east. The car was traveling in the opposite direction. It appears that the truck slowed down and the cycle attempted to maneuver around it; however the cycle was unable to and collided with the truck and the westbound car. The rider of the cycle was not injured; however, the cycle’s pillion passenger, a 17 year old young man from Paget, sustained serious head and internal injuries. He was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. Apparently the drivers of the truck and car were not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Akinmola or the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.
