Robbery

Around 9:25pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported robbery on Happy Valley Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 47 year old Warwick woman, who stated that around 9:10pm she was standing on Happy Valley Road when she was approached by an unknown man who asked her for $10. The Warwick woman told the man she didn't have any money. The suspect then grabbed the victim's brown handbag and a struggle ensued. During the struggle, the suspect kicked & punched the 47 year old woman's chest before running off with her handbag. The victim gave chase, but the suspect was able to make good his escape. The handbag contained a quantity of cash, a CD player and personal items. The victim sustained abrasions to her right wrist, little finger and ring finger as well as chest pain. She was treated at KEMH for her injuries and released. The suspect is described as a light brown skinned male, approximately 5'11" tall of medium build with unkempt facial hair and a scruffy hair style. He is believed to be in his mid 30s and was wearing a dark coloured jacket, 3/4 length camouflage pants and sneakers. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Witness Appeal

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred around 8:15pm on Tuesday, March 13, 2007 on Parsons Lane in Devonshire near the junction with Old Military Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on Parsons Lane when the rider, a 48 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with an embankment. The Devonshire man sustained serious facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment; however, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. It is anticipated that he will be flown overseas for further medical treatment. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision, specifically the female driver of a car who rendered assistance to the injured party following the collision and the rider of a motorcycle who overtook the injured party just prior to the collision, to contact PC Avasonjia Hewitt or Sergeant Antoine Fox on 299-4368.

Burglary

Around 11am on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Tanglewood Road, Paget residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 10:30am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a 32" Sony flat screen TV and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
