Around 10:05am today, Police received a report of a fire at a Scott’s Hill Road, Sandy’s parish residence. On Police arrival Bermuda Fire Service personnel were at the scene dealing with the blaze, which was eventually extinguished. The resident, an 87 year old Sandy’s parish woman, was extracted from the home and received CPR at the scene before being rushed to KEMH via ambulance. She subsequently died. No further information will be released until the next of kin have been notified. The residence received extensive smoke damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
