The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 48 year old Rudell Smith of Southampton. Mr. Smith was involved in a serious road traffic collision on Ord Road in Paget near the junction with Norden Lane around 7:10pm on Saturday, when he lost control of his motorcycle and struck an embankment after colliding with a young woman on a pedal cycle and a young man walking with her. Mr. Smith was rushed to KEMH via ambulance but subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 8pm Saturday. The pedal cyclist, a 13 year old Warwick girl, was treated at KEMH for a sore right hand and injuries to her mouth and released. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

This marks the 1st road fatality of 2008.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 17 year old Miguel Franco of Paget. Miguel was the pillion passenger on an auxiliary cycle that was involved in a serious road traffic collision on Middle Road in Warwick around 12 noon on Friday. He was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of serious head and internal injuries but subsequently succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead around 4:30am Sunday. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

This marks the 2nd road fatality of 2008.
