Injury RTC

Around 12:45 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy's parish near the junction with Sound View Road involving an auxiliary cycle and a motorcycle. It appears that the auxiliary cycle was traveling west on Somerset Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the rider of the motorcycle, a 33 year old Smith's parish man lost control, entered the westbound lane and collided with the auxiliary cycle. The Smith's parish man sustained abrasions to his right arm and facial cuts. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 27 year old Sandy's parish woman, sustained abrasions to both legs and a broken finger. The Smith's parish man and the Sandy's parish woman were treated at KEMH for their injuries. Both cycles were extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

At 9:15am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Front Street, City of Hamilton business. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10:30pm on Monday and 7:30am on Tuesday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into an office on the premises. The culprit(s) stole three silver 17" Compaq laptop computers, a black Dell desktop computer with a 19" flat screen monitor, keyboard & mouse and a red 'Air Canada' suitcase. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
