Robbery

At 10:45pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 27 year old Warwick man, stated that around 10:40pm that day, he was standing next to his auxiliary cycle on Washington Lane in Pembroke when he was approached by four unknown men brandishing knives. The men demanded the Warwick mans auxiliary cycle, which he gave them. The four men then made good their escape; two riding off on the victims auxiliary cycle (a grey TGB license #991 AI) and the other two riding away on another cycle. The victim was not injured. The suspects are described as four young black men. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Around 3:50pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 30 year old Pembroke man, stated that at 12:05am that day, he was riding his motorcycle south on Deepdale Road in Pembroke near the junction with Happy Valley Road when he came upon an unknown man standing in the middle of the road. The unknown man stopped the victim and asked him for a ride, before forcing the Pembroke man from his cycle. At that point the unknown man was joined by a second suspect and both men proceeded to remove a quantity of cash from the 30 year old Pembroke man before making good their escape. The victim did not report receiving any injuries. The suspects are described as two black men; one of the men was approximately 5 10 tall of slim build wearing a white & orange hooded jacket and dark coloured pants, while the other man was approximately 5 8 tall of muscular build, wearing a dark coloured shirt and pants. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

In Wednesdays Daily Report the item of jewelry stolen from a Front Street, City of Hamilton jewelry store was incorrectly identified as a gold chain with a crucifix pendant; however, only the pendant was taken and it was actually a cross, not a crucifix. The cross was also described as containing fake diamonds however, the cross actually contained cubic zirconia. The suspect that allegedly stole the item returned it to the store the next day and is currently assisting Police with inquiries into the incident. We apologize to the jewelry store in question for any unintentional distress caused by the description of their merchandise.
