Theft

At 11:20am on Saturday, Police attended a reported theft at Miles Market on Pitts Bay Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant, who was sitting at a table outside the supermarket raising money for charity. She stated that earlier a man approached her at the table to give money to her cause; however, as he did so he grabbed a black pouch containing funds that had already been collected for the charity and made good his escape in a small blue car. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 511” tall, wearing a white T-shirt and dark coloured pants.

Media Note: The complainant was apparently selling rubber ducks for the Annual Rubber Duck Derby.

The same suspect is also believed to have stolen a bottle of alcohol from Miles Market just prior to stealing the cash meant for charity. Inquiries into these incidents are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to these incidents or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Burglary

At 9:15am on Friday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Horseshoe Road, Southampton warehouse. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 3pm on Thursday and 8:30am on Friday, an unknown culprit gained entry into the premises. The culprit stole four water heaters and 5 rolls of electrical cable. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
