Around 9:40 this morning, Police received a report of a serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smith's parish near the junction with Jennings Road involving a motorcycle, a van and a heavy truck. Details about the collision remain unclear at this time; however, it appears the motorcyclist was attempting to maneuver around a bus when the collision occurred. The rider of the motorcycle, a 20 year old Hamilton parish man, was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of serious head injuries and lacerations to his right arm. He is currently in critical condition. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the Traffic Enforcement Unit on 299-4265 or the main Police number, 295-0011.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 6 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 6 reported burglaries (1 in Devonshire, 2 in Pembroke, 2 in Paget and 1 in Sandy's parish). There were also 22 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 13 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
