Robbery

Around midnight on Sunday, Police attended a reported robbery on Coopers Island Road in St. Georges. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, a 33 year old St. Georges man and a 30 year old St. Georges man. They stated that earlier they were out socializing at an area establishment before deciding to walk home. As the walked along Coopers Island Road they were approached by five unknown men who assaulted and robbed them before making good their escape. Both victims sustained facial injuries but declined medical attention. The 30 year old St. Georges man had a black wallet containing a quantity of cash and personal items as well as a Nokia cellular phone taken by the assailants; however, nothing was taken from the 33 year old St. Georges man. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Southside Police Station on 293-2222.

Disturbance

At 3:15am on Saturday, Police on mobile patrol on Front Street in the City of Hamilton attended a reported disturbance near the junction of Front Street and Parliament Street. On arrival officers observed a large crowd present, with several individuals involved in scuffles. Officers immediately commenced crowd control and assisted in separating the combatants and dispersing the crowd. No further Police action was necessary.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend, there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 9 reported burglaries (2 in Pembroke, 2 in Paget, 3 in Warwick and 2 in Southampton). There were also 23 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 9 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 12 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
