Injury RTC

Around 3:10 this morning, Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy s parish, near the junction with Mangrove Bay Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on Somerset Road when the rider, a 32 year old Pembroke man, lost control attempting to negotiate a left hand bend. As a result, the motorcycle collided with a sidewalk before colliding with a tree. The Pembroke man sustained internal injuries and is currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit at KEMH. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Melesia Iris at Somerset Police Station on 234-1010 or the main Police number, 295-0011.

Burglary

Around 5:20pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Bobs Valley Lane, Sandy s parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:40am and 4:55pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash, jewelry and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 5:10pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Mullet Bay Road, St. Georges residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 10am and 12 noon that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an Apple laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 11:55am on Tuesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Hermitage Close, Smiths parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 9:30am and 11:30am that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a silver Peugeot motorcycle license #BA 713, two black helmets, a quantity of jewelry, cash, tools, DVDs and electronic equipment. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

The Bermuda Police Service will hold a press conference tomorrow (Thursday) at 4pm in the Police Media Relations office, Prospect Devonshire regarding recently reported disturbances and a brief update/appeal in the Jason Lightbourne murder case.
