Assault

At 5:30 this morning, Police attended KEMH following a reported assault on Spring Hill in Warwick. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 31 year old St. Georges man, who stated that around 5:10am he was leaving a Spring Hill, Warwick residence when he was assaulted by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article. As a result the victim sustained two lacerations to his head. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening however. The suspect is described as a black male, wearing a black raincoat type jacket with the hood over his head. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Handbag Snatch

Around 9:35pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a handbag snatch. The complainants, who are visitors to the island, stated that sometime earlier that day they were riding their rental cycle near the junction of Crow Lane and Trimingham Road in Pembroke when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode alongside them. The pillion passenger on the suspects cycle then snatched a black Adidas bag from the rental cycles basket. The suspects made good their escape with the bag, containing a silver Sony camera and personal items. The two female visitors were not injured. The suspects are described as two black males of slim build, believed to be in their 20s. The rider was not wearing a helmet, but wore a white baseball cap. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 13 reported burglaries and 16 reported damage only road traffic collisions. There were also 5 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 3 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
