Burglary

At 5:50 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a St. Georges guest property. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants, who are visitors to the island. The couple stated that sometime between midnight and 5am today, an unknown culprit gained entry into their cottage. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry, cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 7pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Cobbs Hill Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:10am and 5:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole two digital cameras and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Crime Prevention Advice – Cheque Forging

Keep your cheque book in a safe place - dont give thieves the opportunity to steal it. It stands to reason that if fewer cheques are stolen, less will be forged. Crime Prevention is everybodys business so remember to play your part.

  • Dont leave your cheque book lying around the house
  • Never leave blank spaces when filling out a cheque
  • Dont leave your cheque book in the glove compartment of your car
  • Never sign a blank cheque
  • Dont leave your cheque book in an unlocked drawer at your place of work

If your cheque book is lost or stolen, report it immediately to your bank and the Police.
