Injury RTC

Around 2:50 this morning, Police attended a reported serious road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Camp Hill involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on Middle Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The motorcycle then struck a nearby wall. Both vehicles were extensively damaged as a result. The rider of the motorcycle, a 27 year old Devonshire man, sustained serious head injuries while the cycles passenger, a 21 year old Devonshire man, sustained less serious injuries. The driver of the car, a 34 year old Southampton man, apparently was not injured. The rider of the motorcycle is currently in serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Traffic was diverted away from the area following the collision. Inquiries into this collision are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact PC Vivian Philgence on 234-1010.

Fire

Around 4:45 this morning, Police attended a report of a tree on fire in the Fentons Drive, Pembroke area. On arrival officers observed a palm tree and a small pile of garbage ablaze. The Bermuda Fire Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown; however, there have been several fires reported to Police in that area recently. Inquiries into these incidents are underway.

TWOC

Between 7am on Tuesday and 7am on Wednesday, there were two vehicles reported taken without their owners consent; one orange Yamaha V50 auxiliary cycle license # 139 AF from Tamarind Vale, Warwick and one blue Yamaha V80 motorcycle license # BL 841 from Court Street, Pembroke. Inquiries into these incidents are underway.

In addition, a motorcycle reported stolen from Sandys parish on Monday evening and an auxiliary cycle reported stolen from Reid Street, City of Hamilton on the afternoon of Thursday, October 4th were recovered by Police on Tuesday morning. The motorcycle was recovered in Southampton and the auxiliary cycle was recovered in Warwick.
