Police Week 2007

There is less than one week to go until the start of Police Week! The Bermuda Police Service would like to remind the public that Police Week 2007, being held from Saturday October 27th to Saturday November 3rd, includes a number of community related events suitable for school children to senior citizens, and everyone in between.

  • Commemorative Church Service at 11am on Sunday, October 28th

A church service will be held to remember all those who have served and continue to serve our community as members of the Bermuda Police Service at Miracle Temple in Devonshire.

  • Police Parade at 1pm on Monday, October 29th

The Police Parade will take place at Police Headquarters in Prospect and will feature officers representing the different departments within the Police Service, as well as dynamic displays by some of our specialist units. The parade will take approximately an hour and light refreshments will be provided at the end of the procession.

  • Police Open House from 10am – 2pm on Tuesday, October 30th

All three Police stations (Hamilton, Somerset & Southside) will be open to the public. In addition, the Marine Police Unit will have ‘The Guardian and other Police vessels alongside Barrs Bay for members of the public to see. The public will be able to take a brief tour of the vessels and a member of the Underwater Search & Rescue Team (USRT) will be on hand to display some of their gear and talk about their recent ‘CSI training.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 1 reported burglary. There were also 18 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 13 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 10 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
