Injury RTC

Around 1:20pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with College Road involving a truck and a motorcycle. It appears that the truck was traveling west on South Road and the cycle was traveling in the same direction directly behind the truck. As the truck and motorcycle approached College Road, both vehicles attempted to overtake at the same time, resulting in a collision. The rider of the motorcycle, a 46 year old Paget man, sustained a possible fracture to his right arm while the driver of the truck, a 41 year old Hamilton parish man, was not injured. The truck was not damaged and the cycle received minor damage as a result. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory - TWOC

The Bermuda Police Service would like to remind the riders/owners of auxiliary cycles and motorcycles to securely lock their vehicles when leaving them unattended, even for short periods of time. There are three cycle models which appear more likely to be taken without their owners consent – the Honda Scoopy, the Yamaha V50 & the Yamaha V80.

We are therefore asking that all cycle riders/owners (in particular the riders/owners of the above mentioned cycles) lock their cycles with the handlebar lock and a supplementary lock. In addition to locking your cycle, ‘Datatag can be a useful deterrent to cycle theft – and can aid in identifying your cycle if it is stolen and later recovered by Police.
