Burglary/Assault

Around 7:20am on Saturday, Police received a report of a burglary at a North Shore Road, Hamilton parish guest property. Officers arrived at the scene a short time later and spoke with the victim, a 43 year old Hamilton parish man, who stated that at 7am that day he was in his room when he heard a loud banging at the door. He went to the door, opened it and saw an unknown man standing in the doorway, brandishing a bladed article. The suspect forced his way into the room demanding money and a struggle ensued. The suspect eventually made good his escape on foot, empty handed. The victim sustained superficial cuts to his head, back and lacerations to the fingers of his right hand as a result. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The suspect is described as a brown skinned male, approximately 6 tall of medium build, clean shaven with a low haircut. He is believed to be in his 40s and was wearing a blue T-shirt and blue jeans. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. Georges Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

Weekend Activity

Over the Remembrance Day weekend (7am Friday – 7am Monday) there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 9 reported burglaries. There were also 24 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 12 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 9 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
