Mon, 2007-11-12

At 6:45pm on Monday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Crow Lane in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car exited a parking lot behind the Shell service station and made a right turn on to Crow Lane. The car then indicated it was going to come to a stop near the Blue Water Anglers Club; however as the car stopped, the motorcycle collided with it from behind. The rider of the motorcycle, a 47 year old Pembroke man, sustained a possible broken right leg and left wrist. The driver of the car, a 31 year old Pembroke woman, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Missing Kayaker

The Marine Police are currently assisting in a shoreline search for an overdue kayaker. The kayak was rented from Blue Hole Water Sports at 9am on Monday by a white male in his 20s. At 5pm that day when the individual did not return with the kayak, Bermuda Radio and the Marine Police Unit were informed. The 12 kayak, which has the registration number R031, is described as turquoise green coloured with a black handled paddle with bright orange paddle blades. Anyone with any information on the individual who rented the kayak or his whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Marine Police Unit on 299-4585.
