Disturbance

A few minutes after 3:30pm on Monday, Police responded to a report of a disturbance that took place on Berkeley Road in Pembroke. Upon Police arrival they noticed an unresponsive 14 year old male lying on the side of the road in the area of the Old Berkeley School. It appears that this 14 year old male was set upon by a group of around 6 males who punched and kicked the complainant about the body before making good their escape. The 14 year old boy was taken to KEMH where he is presently in ICU being treated for a facial fracture.

Two males have been arrested in connection with this attack and Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact Central CIU at 295-0011.

Injury RTC

On Saturday around 1:50am Police responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Middle Road and Watlington Lane, in Devonshire. It appears that a 15 year old female was riding an auxiliary bike traveling on the said road, when she lost control of the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital via ambulance where she was treated for head injuries that are consistent with a road traffic collision. As a result the 15 year old female was air-ambulanced out of the island and is presently being treated at a medical facility in Massachusetts. Anyone that might have witnessed the collision or who may have any information about this incident should contact the Roads Policing Unit on 295-0011.

“This collision has been the subject of a host of speculations in the community. However, there is nothing at this point to suggest that anything untoward has taken place and all the injures sustained are consistent with a road traffic collision.”
