Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 44 year old Robert John James of Smiths parish. Mr. James body was found at the bottom of his homes pool by a family member Thursday morning. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 77 year old Ernest Pitt of Devonshire. Mr. Pitts body was found floating in Hamilton harbour on Thursday morning by a passing boater. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service extends our sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Aggravated Burglary

Around 12:35pm on Thursday, Police received a report of an aggravated burglary at a Curving Avenue, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that earlier he and another man were at the home when a group of unknown men attended and gained entry, demanding money. The suspects searched the home and removed a quantity of cash from one of the male occupants. The suspects then took that male occupant from the home by car. While in the car, one of the suspects punched the victim in his left eye, before releasing him a short time later. The suspects are described as 4 -5 black males wearing hooded tops. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.
