Fast Ferry Collides With Dock

At 6pm on Friday, Police received a report of the fast ferry ‘Cecil B. Smith colliding with the Rockaway ferry dock in Southampton. On arrival at the Hamilton ferry terminal, officers spoke with the pilot of the ferry, a 37 year old Sandys parish man. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained after failing the alco-analyser test. Apparently there were passengers onboard at the time; however, there were no injuries reported. It appears that the Rockaway ferry dock was extensively damaged. The fast ferry ‘Cecil B. Smith was also damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
