Robbery

Around 7:40pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported robbery on Trinity Church Road in Hamilton parish. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 35 year old Warwick woman, who stated that around 7:20pm she was riding her motorcycle on Trinity Church Road when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode up alongside her. The pillion passenger grabbed the strap of her black handbag, causing her and her motorcycle to fall to the ground. The suspect then brandished a bladed article and demanded money. The victim handed over the handbag and both suspects made good their escape traveling west on Trinity Church Road. The Warwick woman was not injured. The handbag contained a BlackBerry cellular phone, a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. Georges Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

Burglary

At 10:05pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported burglary at a South Road, Smiths parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8am Friday, December 21st 2007 and 8:30pm Sunday, January 6th 2008 an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while he was overseas. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and alcohol. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend no one was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving but there were 9 reported burglaries. There were also 12 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 2 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
