Robbery

Around 5:10pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a robbery on Fort Hamilton Drive in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, an 82 year old Pembroke man, who stated that around 4:20pm he picked up a fare on Front Street. The unknown man asked to be taken to Fort Hamilton. Once the taxi arrived at Fort Hamilton, the suspect asked to be taken on to Fort Hamilton Drive. Once at Fort Hamilton Drive, the suspect overpowered the taxi driver. During the struggle the victim fell from the vehicle and the suspect managed to remove the 82 year old mans wallet before making good his escape on foot. Apparently the 82 year old Pembroke man was not injured. The wallet contained a quantity of cash. The suspect is described as a medium brown skinned male, approximately 510” tall weighing around 150 pounds. He was wearing a multi-coloured jacket (mostly red), dark coloured pants, a light coloured baseball cap and was carrying a red duffel bag. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
