Handbag Snatch

At 8:50pm on Monday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch at the junction of Front Street and King Street in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 38 year old Pembroke man, who stated that sometime between 8:15pm and 8:20pm that day, he was standing at the entrance to the parking lot at the junction of Front Street and King Street when two unknown men on a motorcycle rode past. The pillion passenger grabbed the Kenneth Cole soft leather case the victim was holding, dragging the Pembroke man to the ground. The suspects then made good their escape with the leather case containing personal items, traveling west along Front Street into the City of Hamilton. The victim sustained minor abrasions to his right hand, right elbow and soreness to his right wrist as a result. The main suspect (pillion passenger) is described as a dark skinned male of medium build, wearing a dark coloured full face helmet and a red waist length jacket which may have had white stripes on it. The other suspect (rider) is described as a dark skinned male wearing a dark coloured open face helmet, blue or black clothing with a white shirt underneath. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Burglary

Around 7pm on Monday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Devon Spring Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 8:45am and 6:35pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a mens watch and a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 7pm on Monday, Police also attended a reported burglary at a Fork Lane, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime during the day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and a gold pendant. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
