Attempted Robbery

Around 12:15pm on Saturday, Police received a report of an attempted robbery at the St. Georges Golf Course. It appears that the victims, a 48 year old Paget man and a 44 year old Pembroke woman, were in a golf cart making their way to the #1 green when they were approached by an unknown man brandishing a bladed article. The suspect attempted to take the victims property from the golf cart; however, the suspect was unsuccessful, as the Paget man managed to maneuver the cart away from him. The suspect then made good his escape on foot into the trees he initially emerged from. The 48 year old Paget man and 44 year old Pembroke woman were not injured. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 tall of slim build, believed to have been wearing track pants and a sweat shirt. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. Georges Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

Injury RTC

Around 7:50am on Saturday, Police received a report of a road traffic collision resulting in injury on Spanish Point Road in Pembroke involving a tractor trailer and a car. It appears that the tractor trailer was traveling east on Spanish Point Road and the car was traveling in the same direction behind it. The tractor trailer came to a stop and the car collided with its rear end. As a result the car received extensive front end damage and the driver, a 30 year old Pembroke woman, sustained a wound to her forehead and soreness to her neck and chest. She was taken to KEMH, treated and released. The driver of the tractor trailer, a 49 year old Southampton man, was not injured and the tractor trailer was not damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9:55pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Frog Lane in Devonshire at the entrance to the Devonshire Recreation Club involving a car (SUV) and a motorcycle. It appears that the car and motorcycle collided as the car was attempting to turn into the Devonshire Recreation Club and the motorcycle was attempting to overtake. The rider of the motorcycle, a 20 year old Pembroke man, was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. The driver of the car, a 39 year old St. Georges woman, was not injured. The car received damage to its passenger side. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
