Robbery

Around 10:20pm on Monday, Police attended a reported robbery at the junction of North Shore Road and WB's Way in Hamilton parish. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 23 year old Pembroke woman, who stated that around 9:30pm she was in the area talking with friends when two unknown men appeared from the bushes brandishing machetes. The men proceeded to take the victim's silver Peugeot motorcycle license #BF 329 and made good their escape traveling west on North Shore Road. No one was injured. The suspects are described as approximately 6' tall; one wearing a green jacket with black jeans and the other dressed in all black. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. George's Criminal Investigation Unit on 297-1122.

Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 58 year old Reginald Emery of Southampton. Mr. Emery was pronounced dead at KEMH by an on call physician at 2:22pm on Monday. At 1:45pm on Monday, Police attended the Bermuda International Airport after a report of a medical emergency onboard an incoming Delta flight. The flight was en route from New York USA to Bermuda when Mr. Emery became unresponsive. Flight attendants rendered assistance to the victim until the plane landed. The Southampton man was then taken to KEMH via ambulance in an unresponsive state and subsequently pronounced dead. No foul play is suspected; however, an autopsy is anticipated. The Bermuda Police Service extends its sincere condolences to the family & friends of the deceased.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service is continuing to advise the public that officers will be ticketing any vehicles found illegally parked in residential areas, particularly where the vehicle is parked on a yellow line and/or causing an obstruction to area residents or road users. We are encouraging drivers to park their vehicles responsibly in order to allow traffic to flow freely and safely through these areas.

Burglary

Around 11:30am on Monday, Police attended a reported burglary at Whitney Institute Middle School on Middle Road in Smith's parish. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime over the weekend an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into an office on the premises. The culprit(s) stole a Dell laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
