Injury RTC

Around 8:05pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Smiths parish near the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum & Zoo involving two buses and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road behind one bus and the other bus was traveling in the opposite direction. The rider of the motorcycle, a 43 year old Hamilton parish man, then attempted to overtake the westbound bus. As a result the motorcyclist collided with the side of the oncoming bus and the rear of the bus he was attempting to overtake. The Hamilton parish man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of a broken left leg. None of the passengers or drivers of either bus were injured. The buses received minor damage and the motorcycle received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Harrington Sound Road and Paynters Road in Hamilton parish involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on Harrington Sound Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the car attempted to make a right hand turn on to Paynters Road and the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 36 year old Sandys parish man, sustained a broken right leg and facial injuries. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 46 year old Warwick man, was not injured. Both vehicles received moderate damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 8am on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Harbour Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 11pm on Wednesday and 7:30am on Thursday, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home. The culprit stole a Toshiba 40” flat screen TV and a Dell laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
