Burglary

At 1:25pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Upland Street, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10am and 1pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole two metal safes and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 7:45am on Sunday, Police attended a reported burglary at the Tynes Bay Incinerator on Palmetto Road in Devonshire. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 6:45pm on Saturday and 6:45am on Sunday, an unknown culprit gained entry into an office on the premises. The culprit stole a TV and a stereo system. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that officers will be ticketing any vehicles found illegally parked in residential areas, particularly where the vehicle is parked on a yellow line and/or causing an obstruction to area residents or road users. We are encouraging drivers to park their vehicles responsibly in order to allow traffic to flow freely and safely through these areas.

Weekend Activity

Over the Easter weekend there were 8 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 12 reported burglaries. There were also 22 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 15 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury. It was a relatively quiet Easter weekend with no major incidents reported to Police.
