The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to use care, caution and courtesy on the islands roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and those traveling on motorcycles to fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane. Number of vehicles reported stolen by parish: Devonshire = 4, Pembroke = 10, Warwick = 4, Southampton = 1 and Sandy s parish = 2. The majority of vehicles removed were auxiliary cycles & motorcycles, with one pedal cycle also removed during the week. Of the 21 vehicles reported stolen, 8 were subsequently recovered. |

WEST REPORTED BURGLARIES Sandys = 0 Southampton = 6 Warwick = 4 Western Parishes Total = 10 CENTRAL REPORTED BURGLARIES Paget = 3 City of Hamilton = 0 Pembroke = 2 Devonshire = 1 Central Parishes Total = 6 EAST REPORTED BURGLARIES Smiths = 2 Hamilton = 1 St. Georges = 3 Eastern Parishes Total = 6 TOTAL = 22 Common Targeted Goods: Cash, jewelry and electronic items (flat screen TVs, laptop computers, cell phones, I-Pods, DVD players etc). Common Methods of Entry: Insecure window or door; forced or pried window or door. Of note during the period: It appears that burglars have targeted residences in the South Road / Turtle Bay Lane / Whale Bay Road / Coral Acres Drive, Southampton area. However, despite attempts to alert the public to burglaries occurring around the island, ‘big ticket items continue to be removed from homes. We are reminding members of the public to secure their homes, especially when leaving them unattended, and to be vigilant for any suspicious activity or individuals in their neighbourhoods. Also, we are advising the public that receiving stolen goods is a crime punishable under the law. |

Crime Prevention Advice - Cheque Forging | ||
Keep your cheque book in a safe place - dont give thieves the opportunity to steal it. It stands to reason that if fewer cheques are stolen, less will be forged.
If your cheque book is lost or stolen, report it immediately to your bank and the Police. |
