Burglary

At 6:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Sayle Road, Smiths parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10am and 5:50pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. It is unknown if anything was taken. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:50pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Pearmans Hill West, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10am and 4:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 2:55pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Middle Terrace, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10am and 1:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a portable MP3 player. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 9:45am on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Ferrars Close, Pembroke residence. It appears that a short time earlier two men were working in the area when they heard noises coming from the complainants residence. When the two men went to investigate they found the suspect, who rode off on a motorcycle. The complainant subsequently discovered that a quantity of cash and jewelry had been removed from his home. Police later located the suspect, a 39 year old Devonshire man, traveling along Court Street and after a brief pursuit, arrested him in connection with this incident. The stolen jewelry was recovered also. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The Bermuda Police Service would like to commend the actions of the two men working in the Ferrars Close, Pembroke area around the time of this burglary.
