Burglary

Police responded to a report of a burglary that took place on Melville Road in Devonshire sometime yesterday. It appears that the complainant left her residence secured at 1pm and upon her return noticed that someone had gained entry to her dwelling removing two pieces of jewelry and a video camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Advisory

Police are reminding the motoring public to fasten their helmets when traveling on the roads. Officers are still noticing a number of persons riding with their helmets unfastened. This is an unsafe practice and if found committing persons will be ticketed. Also, persons who have illegal plates should be warned as well, as persons found with illegal plates will have the plates removed immediately rendering the vehicle stationary until legitimate license plates can be attached to the vehicle.

The Roads Policing Unit will be vigorously enforcing the law and persons carrying out illegal practices on the roads may face prosecution and stiff fines or penalties upon conviction in the courts.

Press Conference

The opening of new Detainee Medical Room at Hamilton Police Station is on Monday July 14th at 11am. We are asking for the press to be assembled outside of Hamilton Police Station at 10:45 am. (This is a joint initiative between the Ministry of Health working with the BPS).
