Assault

At 2:25am on Saturday, Police received a report of an assault. The victim, a 24 year old Pembroke woman, stated that earlier she and her friend, a 22 year old Hamilton parish woman, were at the Spanish Point Boat Club when an altercation took place between them and four other individuals. The Pembroke woman and the Hamilton parish woman then left the club in a blue car; however, when they stopped at the traffic lights at the junction of Cedar Avenue and Marsh Folly Road, the same four individuals appeared and assaulted the victim (passenger), stabbing her several times in the face and neck before making good their escape in a white car. The Hamilton parish woman, who was driving the blue car at the time, was not injured. The Pembroke woman was taken to KEMH for treatment of her injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening. A 21 year old Pembroke woman, two 20 year old Pembroke women and a 22 year old Warwick man were subsequently arrested and detained at the Hamilton Police Station in connection with the incident. The vehicle used by the suspects was also impounded by Police. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing by the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 7 reported burglaries (2 in Hamilton parish, 1 in Smith's parish, 1 in Devonshire, 2 in Pembroke and 1 in Paget). There were also 18 reported damage only road traffic collisions and 7 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury.
