Press Conference – Sudden Death

The Bermuda Police Service will be holding a press conference at 5pm today in the Police Media Relations office, Prospect Devonshire regarding the sudden death of an 18 year old Southampton man last night on Tribe Road #6 in Paget. All media are encouraged to attend.

Injury RTC

At 9:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Southside Road in St. George’s. Details about the collision remain unclear at this time; however it appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on Southside Road when the rider, a 33 year old Pembroke man, lost control in the area of the round-a-bout. The Pembroke man sustained head injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to KEMH via ambulance in an unresponsive state. He is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact PC Delroy Dyer on 293-2222 or the main Police number, 295-0011.

Around 1:10am on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish. It appears that a car was traveling west on Somerset Road when the driver, a 28 year old Paget woman lost control, causing the car to collide with a wall and overturn. The Paget woman sustained a laceration to her mouth and complained of neck and back pain, while her front seat passenger, a 27 year old Sandy’s parish man, sustained abrasions to his left hand and complained of pain to his head. They were both treated at KEMH and released. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received damage to multiple areas. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Recovered Removed Vehicle

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the public for their assistance in locating a white Mazda Bongo van, license #L2370, reported stolen between 8pm and 10pm Thursday from outside a North Shore Road, Pembroke residence. The van was located at 1:40 this morning on West Pembroke Primary School field on North Shore Road in Pembroke.
