Burglary

Around 2:10 this morning, Police received a report of a burglary at an Uppington Crescent, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that around 2am she heard noises in her computer room and called the Police. On Police arrival a short time later the suspect, a 21 year old St. George’s man, was found in the computer room. He was arrested after a struggle, taken to Hamilton Police Station and detained. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9:50pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a South Road, Paget residence. The complainants stated that sometime between Wednesday, October 8th and earlier on Sunday, October 26th an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while they were overseas. The culprit stole a beige X-Box 360, a silver I-Mac computer and a silver Sony video camera. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery

At 8:30pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported robbery at the Tynes Bay Water Depot on North Shore Road in Devonshire. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 56 year old Devonshire man, who stated that he arrived at the depot around 8:10pm that day and proceeded to fill up his truck. As he finished doing so, the Devonshire man received a blow to the head from behind by an unknown suspect and fell to the ground. The suspect demanded money before removing a quantity of cash and personal items from the victim. The assailant then made good his escape on foot heading east along North Shore Road. The 56 year old Devonshire man was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The suspect is described as a light brown skinned male, approximately 5’6” – 5’8” tall of medium build wearing a dark coloured jacket. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 299-4545 or 295-0011.

Assault

Police are currently investigating an assault which occurred around 10:50am on Saturday. The victim, a 14 year old young man from Smith’s parish, was apparently walking along Berkeley Road in Pembroke when he was assaulted by three young men. The suspects then made good their escape on foot. The victim sustained facial injuries. He was treated at KEMH and subsequently released. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this assault; particularly a female taxi driver who was driving in the area at the time. Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 4 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 10 reported burglaries. There were also 8 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 6 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 8 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
