Medical Emergency

At 2:30pm on Saturday, Police attended a report of a man floating in the water near Number 1 Shed in the City of Hamilton. On arrival officers observed the victim, a 46 year old Devonshire man, floating on his back. A member of the public jumped into the water and brought the unresponsive man to the ferry terminal dock, where Police assisted in getting the victim out of the water. Members of the Marine Police Unit also attended the scene. An officer commenced CPR on the victim until the arrival of paramedics a short time later. The Devonshire man was then taken to KEMH via ambulance, where he is currently in stable condition on a general ward. It appears a pre-existing medical condition may have resulted in the 46 year old falling overboard, as he had no apparent injuries. Inquiries are underway.

Robbery

At 5am on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery on Front Street in the City of Hamilton. The victim, a 30 year old Devonshire man, stated that around 3:45am that day he was sitting on some steps between the Level Night Club and The Beach waiting for a taxi when he was approached by two unknown men who demanded money.
