Sudden Death

At 8:45 this morning, Police received a report of a man’s body found overboard near Black Horse Tavern in St. George’s. Inquiries are underway. Foul play has not been ruled out. No further information will be released until the deceased’s next of kin have been notified.

Injury RTC

Around 12:40am on Saturday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Cedar Avenue and Dundonald Street in Pembroke involving a Police vehicle and a motorcycle. It appears that the unmarked Police car was traveling south on Cedar Avenue and the motorcycle was traveling east on Dundonald Street when the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 33 year old Paget man, sustained an injury to his right shoulder as well as abrasions to his left side and right leg. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries. The officer driving the Police vehicle was not injured. The motorcycle received damage to its front end and sides while the Police car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 5:15 this morning, Police attended a reported burglary at a Fishermans Hill, Hamilton parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 11pm on Sunday and 4:30am on Monday an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a Blackberry cellular phone and a straw handbag containing a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 10pm on Sunday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Mount Hill, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 2pm and 5pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 7 reported burglaries. There were also 19 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 11 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 3 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
