Injury RTC

Around 6:10pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Harrington Sound Road and Harrington Hundreds Road in Smith’s parish involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on Harrington Sound Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 24 year old Pembroke man, sustained a broken right leg as a result. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injury. The driver of the car, a 58 year old Smith’s parish man, was not injured. Both vehicles were moderately damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 4:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Long Ridge Pass, Devonshire residence. The complainants stated that sometime between 11:30am and 4:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into their home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Willful Damage

Around 1:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of willful damage at St. Peter’s Church in St. George’s. The church groundskeeper stated that sometime between 6pm on Saturday, January 10 and 9am on Sunday, January 11 an unknown culprit entered the church graveyard and knocked over a headstone. Inquiries into this incident and previous similar incidents are ongoing as the Bermuda Police Service continues to work with the church and members of the surrounding community to find a solution to these occurrences.
