Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

At 11pm on Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Harmony Close. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling west on South Road when the rider, a 32 year old Paget man, lost control attempting to negotiate a left hand bend and collided with the sidewalk. The Paget man sustained facial injuries and abrasions to his body. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

At 2:30pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Reid Street & King Street in the City of Hamilton involving a car and a truck. It appears that the car and truck were both traveling along Reid Street into the City of Hamilton, with the car in front of the truck. The driver of the car, a 24 year old Sandy’s parish woman, stopped at a pedestrian crossing to allow a pedestrian to cross the road. The driver of the truck, a 27 year old Devonshire man, was unable to stop in time and collided with the rear of the car. The driver of the car sustained head, neck and back injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured. The car received extensive rear end damage while the truck received moderate front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

All incidents are under investigation.
