Injury RTC

At 1:35 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton, near the junction with Southampton Road involving a Police vehicle, a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car and motorcycle were both traveling east on Middle Road with the motorcycle behind the car. As they approached a left hand bend, the motorcycle attempted to overtake the car. At this time the Police vehicle was traveling in the opposite direction responding to an emergency call, with lights & sirens on. The rider of the motorcycle, a 19 year old Sandy’s parish man, then turned back into the eastbound lane and collided with the rear offside of the car. As a result, the Sandy’s parish man was thrown off the motorcycle on to the road and the motorcycle struck the front of the Police car. The motorcyclist was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment after complaining of abdominal pain. The officer driving the Police car was not injured. The driver of the other car, a 45 year old Devonshire woman, was also uninjured. The Police vehicle received extensive front end damage while the other car received minor rear end damage. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 5:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Dock Hill involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on North Shore Road when the motorcycle exited the Devonshire dock area and the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 31 year old Pembroke woman, sustained relatively minor facial injuries and complained of pain to her right knee. The driver of the car, a 55 year old Warwick man, was not injured. The car and the motorcycle both received moderate front end damage. This collision also caused some traffic delays in the area. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 6:10pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a South Road, Southampton residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10:45am and 5:45pm that day, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit(s) stole a 27” Sony TV, a 52” Sony TV, a silver/white Dell laptop computer, a PlayStation video game system with one PlayStation game and two controllers, an I-Pod, a BlackBerry cellular phone as well as a quantity of cash and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

All incidents are under investigation.
