Burglary

Around 4:15pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Store Lane, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 7:20am and 4pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a Dell laptop computer and a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

At 10:15pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Harrington Hundreds Road. It appears that a car was traveling along Harrington Sound Road when the driver, a 19 year old Southampton woman lost control, crashed through a wooden railing and a hedge before coming to a stop just before the water’s edge. The Southampton woman sustained relatively minor facial injuries and was taken to KEMH for treatment. She was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The car received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Media Note

The Bermuda Police Service will hold a press conference today at 1pm in the Police Media Relations office regarding Christmas crime prevention and road safety advice. Representatives from the Crime Prevention Unit and the Roads Policing Unit will be on hand to address various holiday related issues. All media are encouraged to attend.
