Burglary

Around 12:45am today, Police received a report of a burglary at a Jennings Bay Road, Southampton residence. The complainant, a 53 year old Southampton woman, stated that she was asleep in her bedroom when she was awoken by her dog barking. She then noticed an unknown individual in her room. The 53 year old woman confronted and briefly struggled with the intruder, who was able to make good their escape empty handed. The suspect was described as a person of small build wearing dark clothing. The Southampton resident was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

At 12:25am today, Police attended a reported burglary at a Tankfield Lane, Paget residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant, a 57 year old Paget woman, who stated that around 12:05am she was at home when her dog started barking. She opened her door to let the dog out and noticed an unknown man at the edge of her property. The Paget resident then closed her door and retreated into her house. The unknown man subsequently entered the home and a struggle ensued between the Paget resident and the intruder. The suspect managed to temporarily overpower the 57 year old woman and began to search the house; however, despite this the Paget resident managed to activate an alarm, causing the intruder to make good his escape empty handed. The 57 year old Paget woman was not injured. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’8” tall of slim build wearing a black rain coat, dark coloured pants, black sneakers and weighing around 160 pounds. Injury RTC/Hit & Run

At 3:50pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Jennings Road involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling west on North Shore Road and the motorcycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the rider of the motorcycle, believed to be a 44 year old Smith’s parish man, overtook a car in the eastbound lane. As a result, the motorcycle collided head on into the westbound car, causing the rider to be ejected from the cycle into the car’s front windscreen. The motorcyclist sustained head injuries; however, he quickly got back on to the motorcycle and rode off, leaving the cycle’s basket behind. The driver of the car, a 40 year old Sandy’s parish man, was not injured. The car received damage to its front bumper, hood & windscreen. The cycle also received front end damage.
