Handbag Snatch

At 12:10pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch on Spice Hill Road in Warwick. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 54 year old Pembroke woman, who stated that she was walking east on Spice Hill Road when an unknown man on a motorcycle rode up from behind and grabbed her handbag, knocking her to the ground. The suspect then made good his escape with the bag which contained personal items. The Pembroke woman sustained an injury to the back of her head. She was treated at KEMH and then released. The suspect is described as wearing a black helmet and a black jacket. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Burglary

At 1pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Ord Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 7:15am and 12:10pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into his home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole an HP laptop computer, a PlayStation Portable (PSP) and several PSP games, a Casio digital camera, a Tag Heuer watch and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Attempted Burglary

At 11:05am on Thursday, Police attended a reported attempted burglary at a Rockland Crescent, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant, who stated that around 10:30am he was leaving his residence when he noticed an unknown man attempting to gain entry into his housemate’s room. The complainant confronted the suspect who then left the property on foot. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’10” tall of slim build, wearing a red long sleeved T-shirt, blue jeans, a dark coloured baseball cap and carrying a dark green backpack. He is believed to be in his 20s. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
