Impaired Driving

Around 12:30am today, Police were on mobile patrol traveling east along Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish. They subsequently encountered a car traveling west near Heydon Gardens in an erratic manner. The officers turned their vehicle around and were eventually able to stop the westbound car on Heathcote Hill. The car was approached and the driver, a 58 year old Sandy’s parish man, was asked to step out of the vehicle. The Sandy’s parish man was observed to be unsteady on his feet and was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. He was later detained at Hamilton Police Station after failing the alco-analyser test. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary

Around 4pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Paddock Drive, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime earlier that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her apartment while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 12:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Fourth Avenue, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that he was at home around 12:30pm that day when he heard noises coming from the downstairs apartment. When he went to investigate he observed two unknown men making good their escape on foot empty handed before fleeing on a motorcycle. The suspects are described as two brown skinned young men approximately 5’7” tall wearing hooded tops and helmets. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 9:35am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Biological Lane, St. George’s property. The complainant stated that sometime between 9pm on Friday, November 28 and 8am on Saturday, November 29 an unknown culprit gained entry into two cottages on the premises. The culprit stole a quantity of cash and two cellular phones. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 7:50am on Wednesday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Addendum Lane, Pembroke property. The complainant stated that sometime between 8pm on Tuesday and 6:30am on Wednesday, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into a building on the premises. The culprit(s) stole a quantity of electronic equipment. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

All incidents are under investigation.
