The Commissioner of Police would like to congratulate the following officers on their promotions:

Promoted to the Rank of Inspector: Jerome Laws

Jerome Laws has been with the Bermuda Police Service for 16 years. He started his career in the Service as a Police Cadet, and went on to become a Police officer, working in Eastern Uniform, the Task Force Unit, Central Uniform, Eastern C.I.D., Central C.I.D., Central Uniform and most recently the Serious Crime Unit. He has received six Letters of Good Work and three Commendations, as well as trophies and certificates for local and overseas sports.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Derricka Brangman

Derricka Brangman joined the Service in 1994 as a Police Cadet. She spent 2 years in the Uniform Division and 7 years in CID. She has worked on various investigations and has a passion for criminal investigations. In her spare time she participates in a variety of sports which include basketball, football, softball and netball. Sergeant Brangman will be posted to Central C.I.D.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Calon Hollis

Calon Hollis Joined the Service as a Police Cadet on August 28th 1987 and was confirmed as a Constable in 1989. He has worked in various areas of the service which include Western Division, Central Uniform, Task Force, and Narcotics. He will be attached as a Sergeant in the Financial Crime Unit.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Fiona Miller

Fiona Miller joined the Bermuda Police Service on June 3rd, 1991 in order to make a difference in her community. She has worked in Eastern, Central, Task Force, Traffic, Vehicle Crime, Prosecutions, Western and Driving Training. Her interests include softball, basketball, cricket and interacting in the community with organizations that impact the lives of young people.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Ann Phillips

Ann Philips has been a member of the Service for 3 years. She spent the first 3 years in Uniform, a year and a half in Criminal Investigations Unit and 2 years with the Fraud Unit. She enjoys spending time with her two beautiful daughters who make everything she does worth while. She is also a member of the Police Hockey team.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Andrew Exell

Andrew Exell has been with the Bermuda Police Service for 7 years and has served with distinction. He has worked in Eastern Uniform, Central CID, the Serious Crime Unit, and the Traffic Enforcement Unit. In his spare time he loves sports which include basketball and softball. He will be moving to Central Uniform as a Sergeant.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Colin Paynter

Colin Paynter has been with the Bermuda Police Service for 17 years and has worked in Western Uniform, Eastern Uniform, Central Uniform, the Beach Squad, Traffic and the Task Force. Sergeant Paynter will be moving to Eastern Uniform.

Promoted to the Rank of Sergeant: Jerome Astwood

Jerome Astwood has been with the Bermuda Police Service for 12 years. He has worked in Uniform, Task Force, Central C.I.D., the Serious Crime Unit and Intelligence. Sergeant Astwood lives in Pembroke and is married with one daughter. In his spare time he enjoys football, music and serving the Lord. He plays football for the Police Fire Commercial football team.
