Detective Superintendent Nicholas Pedro, Officer in Charge, Crime Division - A 17 year old male from Devonshire was arrested by armed officers & detectives last night on Court Street, in relation to the attempted murder of a man on North Shore Road on Monday afternoon. He remains in custody while officers question him, and continue to gather evidence. Searches were conducted at his residence.

The 26 year old victim in this case remains in the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital for significant injuries sustained in this attack.

Also last night, a search warrant was conducted at a Pembroke residence in relation to the robbery at the Gold Standard shop in Washington Mall.

A 59 year old male was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen property, and also remains in custody.

Serious Crime Unit detectives are actively pursuing lines of enquiry from the shootings in Warwick from Monday evening, and the information from the public has been immensely helpful so far. However we still need a push from the community to help us bring the offenders from each of these crimes to justice.

If you have been offered, or seen suspicious items of jewellery recently, we want to hear from you.

If you know the shooters, or know about the shooting on North Shore on Monday, we want to hear from you.

If you know about the shootings on Morgan Road, & Khyber Heights / Smiths Avenue, we want to hear from you.

We will be continuing to identify & arrest the offenders in these cases, and have, as I stated previously, significantly beefed up our investigative, unarmed, and armed response teams to address these cases.

Members of the nearby communities will see officers in their neighbourhood, and these officers will be seeking their help to make the community safer. It is vitally important that we address this together.

We ask that you understand that officers will be actively targeting those believed to be responsible, and at times there may be some inconvenience to law abiding members of the public as Police go about their business to identify offenders.

Detective Chief Inspector Arthur Glasford is now the investigative lead on these cases, and can be contacted on 717-0773 or 295-0011. Crime Stoppers can also be called on 800-8477.
