Two Visitors Robbed by Two Men on a Motorcycle in Hamilton Parish

Around 3:25pm Sunday, August 26th police officers responded to a reported robbery on Harrington Sound Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Quarry Road.

Initial information suggests that two visitors riding a rental scooter along the eastbound lane of Harrington Sound Road were approached by two men on a motorcycle – with the second man (pillion passenger) attempting to remove a handbag from the scooter’s basket before brandishing a bladed article.

Apparently both vehicles then came to a stop and the second man was able to take the handbag.

The two men made good their escape on the same motorcycle they arrived on.

There were no reported injuries. Officers immediately conducted a search of the surrounding area for the two offenders and efforts to locate both men continue.

Reported Single Vehicle Car Crash in Southampton

Around 10:10am Saturday, August 25th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on Riviera Road in Southampton, near the Railway Trail.

It appears that the car involved was being driven along Riviera Road when it struck and damaged a wall before going over an embankment.

The driver, believed to be an 82 year old Southampton man, was apparently unhurt and able to get out of the vehicle on his own.

However, the driver was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for medical assessment as a precaution due to a pre-existing medical condition.

The damaged car was later towed away.

Driver Hurt in Reported Single Vehicle Car Crash in Sandys Parish [Updated]

Around 1:25am Saturday, August 25th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle car crash on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Wilson Place.

It appears that the car involved was being driven along Somerset Road in the eastbound lane when it struck and damaged a wall by the entrance to the Willowbank Resort.

The driver, believed to be a 25 year old Southampton man, had to be extricated from the vehicle by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel.

He was then transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of a leg injury.

An update on his medical condition is anticipated in due course.

The damaged vehicle was later towed away.

Update: Monday, August 27th - At last check this afternoon (August 27th), the 25 year old male driver hurt in a single vehicle car crash around 1:25am Saturday, August 25th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Wilson Place had been discharged from the hospital, after receiving treatment for a leg injury.
