Two Men Arrested After Reported Disturbance at BAA Saturday Night

Around 10pm Saturday, April 20th a police officer was conducting a liquor licence check at the Bermuda Athletic Association (BAA) on Woodlands Road in Pembroke when a scuffle occurred between a group of men at the front of the clubhouse.

Other officers promptly attended the premises to assist in defusing the situation.

Two men, said to be 31 and 24 years old, were arrested in connection with the incident.

The older man remains in police custody at this time, while the younger man has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Motorcycle Rider & Passenger Hurt in Paget Collision With Car

Around 4:30pm Saturday, April 20th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on South Road in Paget, near the junction with White Sands Road.

It appears that a car was being driven east along South Road and a motorcycle was being ridden in the same direction when the collision occurred in the vicinity of Ice Queen.

The motorcycle rider, said to be an 18 year old Hamilton parish woman as well as the pillion passenger, said to be a 42 year old Hamilton parish woman, were hurt and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening and an update on their medical conditions is anticipated in due course.

No other injuries were reported.

Both vehicles involved were damaged and temporary traffic diversions were in effect following the crash.

No One Hurt in North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish Motorcycle Fire

Around 2:15pm Friday, April 19th (Good Friday) police and Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel attended a report of a motorcycle on fire on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, near the junction with Radnor Road.

On arrival, the motorcycle was found fully engulfed in flames.

Temporary traffic diversions were in effect until firefighters extinguished the blaze and cleared the area of debris.

No one was hurt and initial inquiries indicated that the fire was not suspicious.
