Motorcyclist Hurt in Collision With Taxi Recovering on General Ward

Around 9:15pm Sunday, March 24th police and fellow first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on South Road in Warwick near the junction with Warwickshire Drive.

It appears that a motorcyclist was traveling west on South Road and a taxi was being driven in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided in the vicinity of Warwick Long Bay playground.

The rider, said to be a 31 year old Hamilton parish man, was injured and transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check he was listed in stable condition on a general ward.

Apparently the motorcycle’s male pillion passenger declined medical treatment by EMTs following the crash and the taxi driver was not hurt.

Both vehicles were damaged and the scene was processed by the relevant police officers.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011.
